WEPOS Version 1.1 Update Released!

I am pleased to announce the RTM of Windows Embedded for Point of Service version 1.1 Update. With the release of WEPOS v1.1 Update, Microsoft is including support for the latest industry standards and expanded language support. This release reaffirms Microsoft's commitment to addressing retailers' challenges, and making the WEPOS platform even more attractive to our customers worldwide. WEPOS v1.1 Update includes:

  • Multilingual User Interface Packs (MUIs), providing support for 33 languages (Arabic, Brazilian, Bulgarian, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish).
  • Support for POS for .NET 1.11:
    • Support for version 1.11 of the UPOS specification
    • Added device classes for Biometrics, Electronic Journal, Bill Acceptor, Bill Dispenser, Coin Acceptor, and Image Scanner
    • Supports the Unified POS v1.11 specification standard changes for ClearInput, SmartCard and Printer base classes
