Tip #4 – The Lucky 7

The New Way: When dealing with localized user interface of the additional 25 languages that have just been introduced in WEPOS 1.1 Update your option is pretty much limited to follow the prescriptive instructions offered in the previous tips and to additionally install all 3 Language Support OCs when dealing with non-standard European languages.

The Old Way: However, if you are handling one of the original 7 localized user interface locales (German, Italian, France, Spanish, Korean, Chinese Simplified, and Japanese), you have another choice. It is to install in the original way: which is to set all language settings to the desired locale in WEPOS setup, and to install the correct Language Pack OC of just the locale you want. Again, make sure not to install any Language Packs that you do not need.

Between these 2 methods, we recommend that you pick one or another, and not to mix them. For example, do not install Japanese Language Pack OC and then try to install Japanese user interface again from the WEPOS MUI CD.

The old method gives you an advantage in smaller storage footprint because it avoids installing additional fonts, input devices, and codepages of locales that you do not need. However, the new method provides a more complete localization of the WEPOS user interface. It also avoids most localization problems that WEPOS has (See "Tip 2 - The Cure for Common Cold"). Additionally, if you plan to install more than one localized user interface on the same WEPOS image the new method is strongly recommended.

Lastly, when installing any of these Lucky 7 localized user interfaces, do not forget to apply WEPOS updates from KB903897 (https://support.microsoft.com/kb/903897/en-us). This helps further localize some additional user interface elements.
