Robert Fripp records the Vista sounds!
a bit surreal but apparently Robert Fripp has done the sounds for Vista - check out this channel 9 vid.
Fripp played at the last G3 tour with Vai and Satch in London which I went to with my friend Martyn. Whilst Satriani and Vai were godlike as usual, Fripp was just weird (IMHO) doing all this chordal layering stuff for ages. I heard from a source close to G3 that he was a late fill in for someone better who pulled out and that Vai and Satch were embarrassed by Fripp. Don't know if that's true but it certainly seemed that way to us sitting in the audience. I'll probably get flamed now by all those King Crimson fans but there you go..
Still as calm ambient sound effects go I suppose it will all add to the Vista experience.

"Better" is one of those impossible words when it comes to guitarists, at least those operating at the levels of Fripp, Satriani et al.
Being able to play a million notes a second might sound good on paper, but awful in reality. Listen to John McLaughlin for an illustration of this: he can play REALLY FAST, but you end up unsatisfied.
Contrast Robert Cray, who doesn't play too quick unless he feels like it. Gets similar, or better results.
Fripp is a technician, I guess. But a supreme one. - Anonymous
