Microsoft Office Deployment for the Elite. Jeremy Chapman and Yoni Kirsh discussed enterprise Office customization, deployment, and application compatibility and remediation. This session included a demo of Office 365 Professional Plus image preparation with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2012, and dynamic role-based Office deployment by using Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.
Optimized Desktop Deployment Jeopardy Live Game Show. This session discussed deployment of Windows and Microsoft Office by using tools such as Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Office Customization Tool (OCT), Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM), Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT), System Center, and in-box utilities such as Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM), BCDBOOT (for Boot Configuration Data initialization), and Office Software Protection Platform script, OSPP.vbs in Office. This session was presented by Johan Arwidmark, Jeremy Chapman, Chris Jackson, Yoni Kirsh, Michael Niehaus, and Curtis Sawin.
The Modern Compatibility Process to Accelerate Microsoft Office Deployment. Curtis Sawin discussed how to adopt the latest version of Microsoft Office faster and cheaper, while managing risk. Learn about modern compatibility processes and how to leverage tools to understand potential risks.
Supporting Microsoft Office in an Enterprise Environment. Will Brandt discussed tools, techniques and best practices for troubleshooting Microsoft Office in the enterprise. The session focused on troubleshooting Outlook, and also covers Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Microsoft Excel: A Web Development Tool?. Steve Hansen explained how Excel Services allows developers to use the Excel Services JavaScript object model on any website to access and manipulate Excel workbooks that are stored on SkyDrive.
Microsoft Office 365 for Enterprises. Angela Livermore discussed Office 365 and some of the enterprise areas to consider when organizations decide to leverage the cloud. Office 365 is the online service offerings of Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lync Online, and Office Professional Plus.
Empowering Small Businesses: Microsoft Office 365 P-Suite. Jamie Mann and Brett Hill discussed the Small Business offering for Office 365 customers. Office 365 provides several versions of the service for various types of customers, including Small businesses, Enterprises, and Education. The Small Business is designed for customers who have 1–25 users. Active Directory Integration with Microsoft Office 365. Ross Adams and Jono Luk discussed Identity options for integrating an on-premises Active Directory environment with Office 365. Microsoft Office 365 Service Reliability and Disaster Recovery. Kumar Venkateswar and Bharath Rambadran discussed the design and delivery of Office 365, and how Office 365 enables you to meet your availability goals today and tomorrow at a low per-user cost.
To the Cloud, from the Trenches: Best Practices for Migrating to Microsoft Office 365. Jorge Diaz discussed several tried and true strategies for migrating to Office 365. These strategies include understanding the existing environment, tools, and techniques for planning a migration, tools for migrating from non-Microsoft platforms, scripting and other tools to automate migration tasks, and strategies for bringing environments up to required levels.
