TechEd Atlanta : Day 1

At 8:55am (EST) the final launch of the Endeavor lifted off, and at the Georgia World Congress Center, TechEd North America got ready with the 2011 Keynote Address..

Having missed out on seeing the first round of the Western Conference Finals (Canucks vs Sharks) on the hotel TV last night, I woke up to a disappointing loss with game 1. On the brighter side, TechEd in Atlanta was ready to go and I was excited to see all the IT Pro’s and Developers walk through the doors to come talk to us and learn about Office 2010.

The Technical Learning Center is a little different this time.  Not only do we have our Office 2010 Demo station to help answer your questions and see all the great features of Office 2010, but we have a new “Best Practices Drive Through” experience area.  The Office & SharePoint Drive Through provides you quick 15 minute demo's on specific topic areas.  There is a week-long schedule at the Drive Through service, and while you are there you have the chance to win some really cool things, as well as aquiring a miniature “Drive Through” car.

This morning started off with one of the most talked about areas that IT Pro’s always ask us about, even across the waters during last year’s TechEd in Berlin, when going through planning for a deployment of Office: “How do we train our end-users”.

Last year the ORK team, put together a the “End User Readiness and Training” Resource Center.  On this page we highlighted:

1) User Readiness Resources

2) Getting Started Resoures including the Interactive Guides (now localized in 35 languages!),

3) Ribbon Hero 2 and printable Office Ribbon Guides

Take a look at the highlights from today.
