Listening to Jarrod Aberhart in the video he talks about the difference between students typing notes (which leads to effective verbatim copying), compared to handwriting the notes on a Surface Pro where they are actually processing the content they're learning. It's a key point and something the team at Churchie School in Queensland also discovered during their three year longitudinal study of device interface and impact on learning.
