When exporting to Excel file, dialog box shows up? or not?

One of my customer write a web application with OWC and make it possible for a user to export the OWC spread sheet to an excel file.

Strangely to say, end users had different experience when exporting. Some client showed a dialog box asking where the user wants to save the file. The others couldn't see this dialog box.

What's the difference?

This can happen from several reasons, another Microsoft person says as follows:

This could be tough to determine.

· Version of the Control on the individual Machines: There have been various security fixes for the OWC controls leading to different behaviors. If all the uses don’t have the same versions of OWC, then this could explain the difference.

· IE Security Settings: What IE Security Zone is being used by the individuals when accessing the page(s) with the control. The specific IE Security Zone affects the behavior of the control, and gain for security reasons (you would not want https://www.EvilSite.Com/MyOwcHacker.htm to be able to fill up a hard drive with bogus files)...
