Manchester University move to Windows for High Performance Computing

Giovanni in the team has been working really closely with the University of Manchester on a High Performance computing project which used Windows Compute Cluster Server ( HPC ) together with Windows Workflow Foundation to study the effects of molecular characteristics and community factors for common diseases.

200830 Scientists at the Northwest Institute for BioHealth Informatics (NIBHI) at the University of Manchester use large volumes of genetic data and requires high-performance computing (HPC) to handle complex calculations. They previously used Linux, but have moved to the Windows Server platform based on the ease of re-programming of their application.
