Microsoft & HP’s Extreme IT Makeover Helps Cincinnati Housing Partners Serve Their Community More Effectively

Hey Folks, Steven Goddard here from the Windows MultiPoint Server team again. Today's post is a repost the first appeared on the Small Business Server team blog in which I was happy to be involved with.

We had a great time working together with HP and Total Care Computer Consulting to help Cincinnati Housing Partners, our latest Extreme IT Makeover recipient. A joint program between Microsoft and HP, Extreme IT Makeover was created to help small, not-for-profit businesses improve their IT. The objective of Extreme IT Makeover is to leverage world-class technologies to help them better achieve their goals. After an HP or Microsoft partner nominates a not-for-profit that could use IT help, the partner then donates their time to create and install an IT solution to fulfill the organization’s needs, while HP and Microsoft donate the hardware and software.

Cincinnati Housing Partners (CHP) is a not-for-profit organization located in Cincinnati, Ohio. For the past 26 years, CHP has worked to provide low and moderate-income housing to first time homeowners in the Mill Creek Valley. When Kevin Royalty, 8-year Microsoft MVP and managing partner of Total Care Computer Consulting, heard of the Extreme IT Makeover, CHP was the first organization he thought of that would be deserving of it.

Royalty designed the perfect IT solution for CHP and worked with representatives from Microsoft and HP to install the new IT infrastructure. Royalty’s solution included installing Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials on an HP ProLiant MicroServer. Royalty also deployed Windows MultiPoint Server on an HP ProLiant ML 110 server, connected to seven HP t200 Zero Clients for MultiSeat. This IT solution has increased CHP’s efficiency 35% and gives them more time to serve the community.

For all the great details on how this Extreme IT Makeover transformed CHP’s productivity and their ability to serve their community, please take a look at the full case study. Look for more Coffee Coaching Extreme IT Makeovers in the upcoming months by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
