The Standard Response to Request for Information- Windows Azure- Privacy & Security  whitepaper has been published to the Microsoft Download Center and will be launched on the Cloud Security Alliance’s, Security,Trust & Assurance Registry very shortly.  

Brief Background

The Cloud Security Alliance recently published a Cloud Control Matrix (CCM), to support consumers in the evaluation of cloud services.  The CCM’s objective is to identify questions prudent to have answered before companies move to cloud services. The CCM will be used going forward with major consumers of cloud services requiring STAR reports as part of the procurement process.  In response to the CCM, Windows Azure and the Public Sector team have partnered to create a document to outline how we meet the suggested principals put forth and mapped them to our recent ISO Certification. With the Standard Response whitepaper we mark a huge step forward to reduce variance in replies to questions  round Windows Azure, meet the adoption of STAR for RFP purposes, and continue in our commitment to transparency with our customers.
