Changes to Live Meeting Lotus Notes Add-in Availability

Discontinued availability of previously existing Lotus Notes Add-in

The previous Microsoft Office Live Meeting Lotus Notes Add-In has been retired and will no longer be available for download from Office Online or Microsoft Downloads.

Customers who installed the existing Add-in (versions 8.400.213.2 or earlier) prior to its removal from general availability on July 31, 2010 will be eligible for incident support until December 31, 2011 (18 months). Hot fixes, design changes, or extended support will not be available.

Customers who require an ongoing solution for scheduling Live Meetings in Lotus Notes should download and install the newly released Lotus Notes Connector for Microsoft Online Meetings (see below).

A separate and distinct solution called the Lotus Notes Connector for Microsoft Online Meetings enables users to schedule Online Meetings in Lotus Notes 7.x and 8.x on the Live Meeting 2007 service and on Office Communications Server 2007 R2 (and Communications Server “14” when released).

This application will be published under the Microsoft Public License as open source which enables partners to develop service offerings based on the Lotus Notes Connector. The solution includes both the binaries plus instructions for the regular deployment steps, as well as the full source code for easy customization. The solution consists of two parts:

· Two modified IBM Lotus Notes mail templates (7.X and 8.5) which can schedule Microsoft Online Meetings via the Notes scheduling User Interface

· A UC Managed API based REST-based web service that handles the scheduling on Communications Server or the Live Meeting service

The Microsoft product team does not provide technical support the Lotus Notes Connector for Microsoft Online Meetings, and the add-in is not part of sustained engineering efforts.
