Blog-enable your Office application, Gwen Stefani & the African Dung Beetle

As the many readers of my blog know, I'm all about blogs (thanks to Scoble and Chris Kunicki for getting me started with my blog two years ago). Blog-enabling Office applications is a no-brainer in a lot of situations. But, it has not always been easy...until now.

The Visual Basic team here at Microsoft created My.Blogs, a collection of sample code that  let's you more easily put programmatic blog access in your apps, and I think VSTO 2005 apps is the place to start. Here's where you can learn more:

Rock Thought for the Day: How has Gwen Stefani made it this far? It's more mysterious to me than the hygenic rituals of the African Dung Beetle. I enjoy No Doubt's songs, for the first two measures. Then, her voice begins to abrade my nerves like sadistic teacher dragging a carbide-tipped gauntlet across an amplified chalkboard. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt: she's a nice person. She's obviously dedicated and smart. I could probably listen to her talk with no need for Vicodin. But, I'll be glad when she does her farewell tour to take up writing children's books.

Rock On

    John,

While not a big fan of female vocalists (except for Eurythmics), I think Gwen has a fantastic voice. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree there.

But re: blogging within MS apps, I thought I'd mention Steen Molberg's web part for SharePoint (http://www.molberg.dk/blogs/steen/default.aspx). I threw it up on our intranet (which is built on top of SharePoint) and it has been working nicely.
