Microsoft PocketPC Voice Command

Microsoft Voice Command for Pocket PC is now available for download at Handango.
It supports speech control of your Windows Mobile 2003 device to look up contacts,
get calendar information and even control Windows Media Player.

Note that this isn't part of the Speech Application SDK, or the Microsoft Speech Server
offerings - it's a completely self contained product running on the mobile device.
Congrats to the teams who worked really hard to put this together - getting a recognizer
running on such a small device is a great achievement!

I just wish I could run it on my own personal Toshiba e740 Pocket PC - sadly Toshiba
decided not to allow the e740 to be upgraded to Windows Mobile 2003, but that's another
story....

hey john i just wanted to say i played with the beta a few months ago and wasn't too impressed (i went back to fonix), but I've been working with the released version for a week and it is truly awesome! Well done to everyone involved! Now I want to be able to use voice to ADD data to the device and search on appointments. I also want to be able to say "GO TO <date>". :-)

    Hi,
experience with version 1.01 - truly english recognition.
Functionality: Please include stepping forward in the contact list like: Show next, Show next page, select etc.
What about a learning functionality which allows to test all commands with the own voice?
And because I am german - when the language libraries are available?
    Best regards
    Jo

    John,

Do you know if MS is providing an SDK for Voice Command?

    Thx,

    Bob

In answer to Bob's question above, we haven't yet announced any plans to provide an SDK for Voice Command.
