Regedit added Favorites?

I have no idea how I missed this one, but at some point, at least in Windows 7, Regedit added a Favorites menu:

In this case I have tagged my OneNote Options branch under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office… to my favorites. I cannot believe how long this has been around and I just noticed it recently. For all the registry keys I have to change to test OneNote I am really looking forward to how much easier manual testing will be.

This is probably old news for everyone else out there but it is new to me. Wow.

Questions, comments, concerns and criticisms always welcome,

John

FYI:  The Favorites are saved under HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionAppletsRegeditFavorites If you export this key to a .reg file, you can re-import it on other machines...or, to sync this file on multiple machines, save it to a Skydrive folder.

You can also change registry settings via powershell -there's a provider built in to let you so do, which is kind of nice (though I struggle to remember the right incantations 'cos I dpn't use the clever bits enough yet...)

I've been using this shortcut feature for more than a year now in Win7 (which I installed a month after it's release). So it took me awhile to discover it as well. Just last week I stumbled upon the fact that this Favorites feature exists in Windows Server 2003 !
