Jon Harris (Expression demigod), following the announcement about Silverlight 1.0 Release is demoing Silverlight and Expression at IBC 2007 this year and as well as showing off Silverlight, Microsoft made some other announcements that are very interesting if you are in the internet/rich media side of the business.

Firstly we talked about Mediaroom, our TV and media sharing platform, and how we are currently looking for partners to work with us to build compatible encoders and join the Microsoft Mediaroom IQ Lab to ensure that we've got compatibility sorted going forward.  Partners getting in on the lab will become Microsoft recommended partners and as take up increases will benefit from being able to work with content providers to ensure they get the maximum coverage for their content.  If you want to partner with Microsoft get in touch with the team today.

Next on the menu was Interactive Media Manager (IMM).  IMM is a video content management system based on SharePoint and features customisable workflows, DRM, Encoding, Collaboration and Publishing.  Again we've got some partners on board already like Telestream who have provided the functionality to automatically transcode and encode video during an IMM workflow.  At present this is a service based offering via Microsoft Consulting Services and our partners - to see who we're partnering with check out these folks.

For more on this stuff and information on the VC-1 Encoding SDK be sure to check out the press release here: https://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2007/sep07/09-06IBC2007PR.mspx
