Live Mesh wins Best Technology Innovation of 2008 at the Crunchies

Last night I was at the Crunchies (Oscars for Technology) and watched Ray Ozzie and David Treadwell pick up the award for Best Technology Innovation at the Crunchies award ceremony in San Francisco.

It was a great night for a number of reasons.  First, we won the award.  Second, MySpace threw the after party and gave us free booze and third – and most significantly – I witnessed first hand how Microsoft is evolving into something new, and how that evolution is being recognized by everyone.  EVEN our biggest critics in Silicon Valley.

Live Mesh itself is only in beta and provides an great end user experience for getting data easily onto multiple devices.  The really exciting part comes when you look at the platform that powers Live Mesh – the Live Framework.  Live Framework and everything that Live Mesh uses is also available for developers to harness through the Live Framework CTP.

I watched a couple of startups being nominated for other awards, in particular DropBox and Evernote, and couldn’t help thinking that they should be using our platform, our datacenters to minimize their development costs.  It would be a smart business move in my opinion.

Download Live Mesh Today to sync your files across your devices.

If you are a developer sign up for the Live Framework CTP.
