Now hiring, until you decide to get the band back together

Once upon a time, I hired consultants and was working a job fair (hey, I said once upon a time and that time was the 90s). And our booth listed the areas for which we were hiring (yay, grammar!) and one of them was "client/server" and someone walked up and said they wanted to be a "client/server" or "client server". It's so hard to tell if those forwarded slashes make a sound. Anyway, this really happened. And so I say that there is a lot of creativity when it comes to posting and applying for jobs. Part of that is the realm of "jobs" versus "careers", because people don't necessarily feel invested in the work. Because isn't it a state of mind, the whole job versus career thing? Far from objective, but I think that it would be a safe bet that these folks are all advertising "jobs" in every sense. I see some humor-as-coping-mechanism here, suggesting that applicants aren't serious (= job, not career). And the rest are just sloppy/silly which means makes me wonder if anyone serious about a "career" would ever consider one of these a "career".

I have so been in one of these jobs before. Thanks a lot recession of the early nineties.

  Yep: obsessive, compulsive practice. Short, shirt, shore, shire, her, here, hare, hart. Argh! I have infected another friend so the insanity has been passed on. I have gotten better at logging off by midnight at the latest.
