New Forums!
While the CTP release of Windows Embedded Standard 2011 (“Quebec”) was already made available on Tuesday and we are happy to see lots of downloads, we’d like to announce the new forums created for the release.
On the existing Windows Embedded Standard forum site, you will find we created 5 new Standard 2011 CTP forums. Feel free to post your questions or comments, or just start a discussions there. You may also noticed there is a brand new forum compared to XPe/Standard 2009’s forums: Servicing and Deployment. In the past, servicing and deployment has been an area with lots of customer requests and feedback. We heard you, and have made great improvement in Standard 2011. We’d like to dedicate this forum for issues in that area. Please do let us know how we did there.
Also, with this batch of new additions to the forums, we are also announcing a new “Hobbyist Zone” forum for all the hobbyists. Though we were able to make an Academic SKU for Standard 2009, we don’t have a plan in place for a hobbyist SKU yet. Hopefully that forum will offer a free-form platform for those of you who like to make interesting gadget devices based on any of Windows Embedded Standard products (XPe, Standard 2009, Standard 2011) to share ideas and get your voice heard. Let’s do it :).
Last but not the least, one of the most active contributors in the forum Richard John Eaton was named as the first Answerer for the forum in July. Richard has helped us manage the forum since then with the “Answerer” hat. We are more than happy to have more of the contributors in the forum to take on the Answerer’s or even Moderator’s roles. All those small efforts will pay off and make everyone’s life easier and more successful. Thank you Richard.
Enjoy the new CTP download and the new forums!
