RTM Versions
When we RTM we will have two versions – a retail version and a trial version. The retail version will install on top of Visual Studio 2005 Professional, a Team Edition version, or VSTS. The trial version will only install on top of VSTS or VSTS Trial.
Up through CTP4 we provided our retail version. For CTP5 we are looking at providing our trial version. The reasoning is that we are nearing feature complete. If we do that, then you would need to have VSTS or VSTS Trial installed. If you don’t have VSTS you can download the VSTS Trial from https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=5677DDC4-5035-401F-95C3-CC6F46F6D8F7&displaylang=en.
You can install VSTS Trial on a machine that has an existing VS 2005 installation. When the VSTS Trial license expires, to enable your previously installed VS 2005 installation, you will need to uninstall the VSTS Trial version.
Let me know what you think about this.

If I have a VS 2005 with MSDN Professionnal subscription, will I be able to use VS Team Edition for DB Pros? - Anonymous

Sorry, I forgot to say that in your post you mentionned that the "Retail RTM" would install on top of VS 2005 Pro ...
So my question would be more like:
When VS Team Edition for DB Pros goes RTM, will I have access to it even if I only have VS 2005 Pro from MSDN Pro? - Anonymous

Ah, got it. So yes, you will be able to buy the DBPro product stand-alone, and install and run on top of VS Pro. It does not require the VSTS Suite to be there before hand. - Anonymous
