We are now about 77 days from the November 7, 2005 launch of Visual Studio 2005, one of the most significant releases in the history of the Developer Division. We have been releasing Community Technology Previews regularly since Beta 2 and will have one coming out in August as well. I wanted to take a moment and update you on our progress towards shipping the final product....

Thanks for your work on the product. I'm very impressed with it. I'm comming to Microsoft Visual C++ development after many years as a professional AIX and Linux software developer.
The CTP was a nice way for me to get my feet wet and see if this was a pool I thought I could swim in with out having to force myself over the reluctance to actually spend hard earned money.
So far, it's been a real breath of fresh air for me after struggling with Linux's immaturity and problems for the past few years. I'm looking forward to buying a copy of Visual C++ when it becomes available and releasing some software.
The abilities of the IDE are just amazing to me after using autotools and gcc/xlc w/ gdb/dbx for so many years.
