  1. What type of organization is using the model (dept/workgroup, small/mid business, enterprise)?
  2. How long have you been using your model?
  3. What is the backend database for your model?
  4. How much data is behind your report model?
  5. Who is responsible for developing/maintaining the model in your organization?
  6. How much effort went into model design before you started using it?
  7. How has your model changed over time?
  8. How easy has it been to change without breaking reports?
  9. How many people use the model to build reports?
  10. What kind of people usethe model to build reports (report developers, information workers, etc.)?
  11. What kind of reports is the model most and least useful for?
  12. What are the top three improvements you’d like to see related to report models?

    Bob,      We are trying to evaluate the SSRS platform for our clients.      I am trying to figure out how is multi-pass SQL handled in the model designer - i mean with referrence to Join issues and creation of multiple intermediate (temporary tables) to achieve a final calculation.Could you please shed some light on this?Thanks & Regards,Harshad

    I am struggling to understand the positioning of Report Models and Microsofts future roadmap for Report Models. Questions I have are:Do Report Models have a future and what is the roadmap?Relationship between Report Models and SharePoint Business Data Catalogue?Relationship and Importance of Report Models with PowerPivot for SharePoint?If Report Models are to be terminated then what method is there for exposing a user friendly Self Service Query Builder and Reporting environment?To answer your question we don't use them yet but I think they have a place, I would go as far as to say I think they are brilliant. We want to use them on top of the Data Warehouse built on SqlServer. Improvents I had a couple but can't remember right now, just keep developing the design side of the report model allow more flexibility.
