Ejemplo introductorio con el catálogo de administración de COM+

Cuando se usa mediante programación el catálogo de administración de COM+, normalmente se llevan a cabo los siguientes pasos generales (no se proporcionan en un orden estricto aquí):

• Abra una sesión con el catálogo COM+ en el equipo local. Opcionalmente, conéctese al catálogo COM+ en un equipo remoto.
• Realizar acciones como iniciar o detener servicios: acciones que no pertenecen a una aplicación COM+ determinada.
• Realice acciones como instalar o exportar aplicaciones COM+, o instalar componentes en aplicaciones, acciones relacionadas con la lectura o escritura en archivos.
• Agregue nuevos elementos a colecciones, como la creación de una nueva aplicación COM+ agregando un nuevo elemento a la colección "Aplicaciones".
• Establezca u obtenga propiedades en un elemento de una colección.
• Guarde o descarte los cambios pendientes en el catálogo.
• Controle los errores que puedan producirse.

Para mostrar el aspecto de estos pasos al usar los objetos COMAdmin, se proporciona un ejemplo de Microsoft Visual Basic a continuación. Ilustra brevemente algunos de los pasos típicos descritos anteriormente, como buscar colecciones, enumerar a través de una colección para recuperar un elemento y establecer propiedades en ese elemento.

En el ejemplo siguiente, realizará las siguientes acciones:

1. Cree una nueva aplicación COM+, "MyHomeZoo".
2. Instale algunos componentes, Cat y Dog, en la aplicación. Ambos componentes están contenidos en un único archivo DLL que ya debe existir: MyZoo.dll.
3. Configure la seguridad basada en roles para la aplicación mediante la definición de dos roles: ZooKeeper y AllergicToCats.
4. Asigne el rol ZooKeeper acceso a toda la aplicación.
5. Asigne el rol AllergicToCats acceso solo al componente Dog.
6. Active las propiedades de seguridad para que se aplique la comprobación de roles para la aplicación.
7. Exporte la aplicación MyHomeZoo a un archivo para que se pueda instalar en otros equipos.
