Enable route tracking and test messages

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To enable route tracking and test messages

Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Click to expand My Computer, click to expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click to expand SOFTWARE, and then click to expand Microsoft.
Click to expand MSMQ, click to expand Parameters, and then click Security.
Right-click the details pane, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type EnableReportMessages as the name of the new value, and then press ENTER.
Double-click the new EnableReportMessages value to change the value data. To enable the sending of test messages, enter a Decimal value of 1 in Value data. To disable the sending of test messages, enter a Decimal value of 0 in Value data. This is the default value.
Click OK to save the value. After setting the registry, restart the Message Queuing service for the changes to take effect.

Caution

Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. It is recommended that you back up any valuable data on the computer before making changes to the registry.
