Notes
To open Active Directory Users and Computers, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
This task is applicable only to independent clients and Message Queuing servers without routing enabled that are installed on a nondomain controller, but can be performed from any computer with suitable permissions.
You can install a Message Queuing server with routing enabled on a domain controller, but it may impair performance.
When a client is moved to another site, these routing settings are disabled until the client returns to its original site.
Message Queuing servers used as in-routing or out-routing servers must be in the same site as the client. The same computer can be used as both the in-routing server and the out-routing server for a client.
If used, it is recommended that you assign more than one in-routing or out-routing server per client. This provides load balancing and failure recovery.
Information about functional differences
- Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
