Modem Logging Registry Settings (Windows CE 5.0)

Send Feedback

Modem logging is a process that records all modem commands and responses to a file. This modem log file is truncated when a new modem call begins. The naming convention of the files that contain these commands and responses follows the form MdmlogTAPI Device ID.txt. For example, applying this naming convention for TAPI device 0 would create a file named Mdmlog0.txt.

Setting the DWORD registry value MdmLogFile to 1 enables modem logging. Modem logging is disabled by default. The MdmLogFile registry value must exist for modem logging to occur. To enable Modem logging on all unimodem devices, the following registry key must be added.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Unimodem\Settings]
    MdmLogFile=1
