Use memory allocation routines to allocate, free, and reallocate memory.
| Routine | Use |
|---|---|
| _alloca | Allocates memory from stack |
| calloc | Allocates storage for array, initializing every byte in allocated block to 0 |
| free | Frees allocated block |
| malloc | Allocates block of memory from heap |
| _msize | Returns size of allocated block |
| realloc | Reallocates block to new size |
| _setmode | Sets file translation mode |
