Adding to an OS Design (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

You can add to a Windows Embedded CE–based OS design by doing one of the following:

  • Insert a Catalog item from the Catalog
  • Insert a subproject using commands from the Project menu
  • Use a wizard to create a subproject

Files, such as those for audio and video, can be inserted into an OS design using the same approach as used for subprojects.

By default, when you create a subproject, or add a file, or Catalog item to an OS design, it is included in the final run-time image.

Also, the Catalog contains preexisting Windows Embedded CE Catalog items. You can extend the Catalog by creating and adding Catalog item (.pbcxml) files to the OS tree. Third-party functionality can also be imported into the Catalog.

For more information about the Catalog, see Catalog Overview and Catalog Item Icon Types.
