In some cases, you may want to use PlayReady PC SDK instead of PlayReady Client SDK for Windows Store Apps. PlayReady PC SDK supports the following features not found in PlayReady Client SDK for Windows Store Apps.
- Supports downloading content.
- Supports access to other media pipelines, such as DirectShow.
- Supports sharing licenses across users and applications.
- Supports extracting audio and video data.
- Supports media center scenarios.
- Supports classic PC applications that also run on versions of the operating system earlier than Windows 8.
