CommandLineBuilder.AppendSwitch Method

Appends the command line with the specified switch.

MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework.For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0.

Namespace:  Microsoft.Build.Utilities
Assembly:  Microsoft.Build.Utilities.Core (in Microsoft.Build.Utilities.Core.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public Sub AppendSwitch ( _
    switchName As String _
)
public void AppendSwitch(
    string switchName
)
public:
void AppendSwitch(
    String^ switchName
)
member AppendSwitch :
        switchName:string -> unit
public function AppendSwitch(
    switchName : String
)

Parameters

  • switchName
    Type: System.String

    The name of the switch to append to the command line. This value cannot be nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Remarks

If the command line is not empty, then this method also appends the command line with a space, before the switch.

Examples

The following example creates a ToolTask that runs Ilasm.exe. The CommandLineBuilder, ToolLocationHelper, and TaskLoggingHelper classes are used to generate the information needed to run the task.
