DataReader.Close Method

Closes the DataReader instance.

Namespace:  Microsoft.VisualStudio.Data.Framework
Assembly:  Microsoft.VisualStudio.Data.Framework (in Microsoft.VisualStudio.Data.Framework.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Public MustOverride Sub Close
public abstract void Close()
public:
virtual void Close() abstract
abstract Close : unit -> unit
public abstract function Close()

Implements

IVsDataReader.Close()

Remarks

You should close data readers when the consumer has completed reading data or no longer wants to read any more data. Closing the reader ensures that output parameters, if any, are populated.

Depending on the provider implementation, the Close method may wait for the data reader to finish returning all of the specified data before closing. Compare this to the Terminate method.

Notes to Inheritors

The derived class must override this method.
