DefaultFileGroup Element (ICF)

Specifies one of the NamedFileGroup values to be used as the default file group when creating SQL Server objects for the instance.

Sintaxis

<Database>
    ...
    <DefaultFileGroup>

Element Characteristics

Characteristic Description

Data type

string, between 1 and 128 characters in length.

Default value

DEFAULT, which indicates the Primary filegroup.

Occurrence

Optional once per Database element.

Updates

Cannot be added, deleted, or modified after creating the instance.

Element Relationships

Relationship Elements

Parent element

Database Element (ICF)

Child elements

None.

Notas

If no filegroup is specified when creating new database objects, the objects are created in the default filegroup.

For more information about using filegroups, see Descripción de archivos y grupos de archivos.

If specified, the DefaultFileGroup value must be the same value as one of the FileGroupName values within the NamedFileGroup element. This is not the same as a LogicalName value within a FileSpec element.

If you need to change database attributes represented by any child elements of the Database element, use the SQL Server tools, such as SQL Server Management Studio.

Ejemplo

The following example shows how to use the Primary filegroup as the default filegroup. You can either use an empty element, as shown below, or you can omit the DefaultFileGroup element from the instance configuration file (ICF).

<DefaultFileGroup/>

The following example shows how to specify that a filegroup with the name Stock should be the default filegroup.

<DefaultFileGroup>Stock</DefaultFileGroup>
