FIM 2010 R2 Reporting Software Requirements
The FIM Reporting service in FIM 2010 R2 uses the following components (in addition to the basic FIM 2010 R2 deployment):
FIM 2010 R2 Reporting service - The Reporting service appears as an optional component during the FIM Service and Portal installation, and can be installed at the same time as other FIM components or can be installed at a later time.
System Center Service Manager (SCSM) – The FIM Reporting service gathers data from the FIM database, and pushes it to SCSM, where it is configured for storage. SCSM uses pre-defined management packs, which are automatically deployed during the FIM Reporting service installation, to transform the data based on the default FIM schema. A FIM Reporting deployment uses these SCSM components:
Data Warehouse – This component of SCSM is used for long-term data storage, and to provide data for reports.
Management Server – This component of SCSM is used to stage data from FIM before it arrives into the Data Warehouse for long term storage.
SCSM Service Manager Console – The Service Manager Console is installed on the machine running the FIM Reporting service, and is used to view or query the data on the Data Warehouse.
SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) – The SQL Server Reporting Service can be used to generate and display custom reports in a variety of formats.
The servers that host Microsoft® Forefront® Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 R2 Reporting components must meet the following minimum software requirements for System Center Service Manager 2010 SP1. The following table outlines the software requirements for the individual parts of Service Manager.
Service Manager management server or data warehouse management server |
One of the following operating systems:
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1* |
||
Service Manager or Data warehouse databases |
One of the following versions of SQL Server:
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) in SQL Server 2008 with SP1, SQL Server 2008 with SP2, or SQL Server 2008 R2
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1 is required on the computer hosting the data warehouse databases when installing Service Manager in a four-computer scenario. * The SQL Server collation settings must be the same for the computers hosting the Service Manager database, data warehouse database, and Reporting Services database. For this release, Turkish language collations are not supported. |

Service Manager console |
One of the following operating systems:
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1* |
||
Self-Service Portal |
One of the following operating systems:
Microsoft Internet Information Services 7 with IIS 6 metabase compatibility installed ASP.NET 2.0 A Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate will be required on the IIS server that hosts the Self-Service Portal. The following software is optional and provided for additional functionality:
|
||
Computers accessing the Self-Service Portal |
The following operating systems are supported with the Self-Service Portal:
The following browsers are supported with the Self-Service Portal:

SQL Server Reporting Services |
In a deployment topology where the computer hosting SSRS is not on the same computer that hosts the data warehouse management server, you have to add Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Reporting.Code to the global assembly cache.
