Step 6: Install FIM 2010 R2 Prerequisite Software

FIM1 and FIM2 prerequisite software for the Forefront Identity Manager 2010 test lab consists of the following:

  • Install the .NET Framework 3.5.1, Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5, and Windows PowerShell® on FIM1

  • Install the .NET Framework 3.5.1, Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5, and Windows PowerShell® on FIM1

  • Install the Exchange 2010 Management Console on FIM1

  • Disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security for Administrators on FIM1

  • Disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security for Administrators on FIM2

  • Install and Configuring SharePoint Foundation 2010 on FIM1

  • Install Full Text Search on APP1

  • Install the SQL Server 2008 Native Client on FIM1

  • Install the Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable Security Update on FIM1

  • Install the Service Manager Console on FIM1

  • Install Cumulative Update 2 for SCSCM SP1 on FIM1, APP2, and APP3

  • Install Hotfix for KB2561430 on FIM1, APP2, and APP3

Install the .NET Framework 3.5.1, IIS 7.5, and Windows PowerShell on FIM1

Install the .NET Framework 3.5.1, IIS 7.5, and Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE) on FIM1.

To install the .NET Framework 3.5.1, IIS 7.5, and the Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE)

  1. Log on to FIM1 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. In Server Manager, on the left, click Features and on the right, click Add Features. This will launch the Add Features Wizard and you will see the Select Features page.

  3. Scroll down the list of features and select .NET Framework 3.5.1. This will bring up a box that asks to install Web Server (IIS). Click Add Required Role Services. The box will disappear.

  4. Scroll down the list of features and select Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE), and then click Next. You will see the Confirm Installation Selections page.

  5. On the Web Server (IIS) page, click Next.

  6. On the Role Services page, place a check in all of the items that are listed in tables 1 and 2 below.

    Note

    When you select ASP.NET this will bring up a pop-up box with the title Add features required for Web Server (IIS). Click the Add Required Features button. This will automatically select ISAPI Extensions, ISAPI Filters, and .NET Extensibility. This will also add the .NET Environment to the Windows Process Activation Service.

  7. On the Confirm Installation Selections page, click Install. This will begin the installation. When this completes you will see the Installation Results page. Click Close.

To install the .NET Framework 3.5.1, IIS 7.5, and the Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE)

  1. Log on to FIM2 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. In Server Manager, on the left, click Features and on the right, click Add Features. This will launch the Add Features Wizard and you will see the Select Features page.

  3. Scroll down the list of features and select .NET Framework 3.5.1. This will bring up a box that asks to install Web Server (IIS). Click Add Required Role Services. The box will disappear.

  4. Scroll down the list of features and select Windows PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE), and then click Next. You will see the Confirm Installation Selections page.

  5. On the Web Server (IIS) page, click Next.

  6. On the Role Services page, place a check in all of the items that are listed in tables 1 and 2 below.

Install Exchange Server 2010 with Service Pack 1 Management Console on FIM1

Now install the Exchange Server 2010 with Service Pack 1 Management Console on FIM1.

To install Exchange Server 2010 with Service Pack 1 Management Console

  1. Log on to FIM1 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. Navigate to the directory that contains the Exchange Server 2010 binaries and double-click Setup.EXE. This will launch the Exchange Server 2010 Splash Screen.

  3. On the Splash Screen, click Step 3: Choose Exchange language option. Select Install only languages from the DVD.

  4. On the Splash Screen, click Step 4: Install Microsoft Exchange. This will close the Splash Screen and bring up a box stating it is copying items. Once this completes a box will appear that says Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Setup initializing. When this completes t the Exchange Server 2010 Setup Wizard will launch.

  5. On the Introduction page, click Next.

  6. On the License Agreement page, read the License Agreement, select I accept the items in the license agreement, and then click Next.

  7. On the Error Reporting page, leave the default of No selected, and then click Next.

  8. On the Installation Type page, select Custom Exchange Server Installation and the default path of C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14. Place a check in the box next to Automatically install Windows Server roles and features required for Exchange Server, and then click Next.

  9. On the Server Role Selection page, place a check in the box next to Management Tools, and then click Next. This will launch the Readiness Checks. This may take several moments.

  10. Once the Readiness Checks completes, click Install. This will begin the installation. This will take several minutes.

  11. Once the installation completes, click Finish.

  12. On the Splash Screen, click Close. This will bring up the Confirm Exit window. Click Yes.

  13. At this point, the Exchange Management Console will automatically launch. You can close the Exchange Management Console.

Disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security for Administrators on FIM1

This section lists the steps for disabling Internet Explorer Enhanced Security.

To disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security for Administrators

  1. In Server Manager, on the right-hand side, scroll down to Security Information, and then select Configure IE ESC.

  2. From the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration screen, under Administrators, select Off.

Disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security for Administrators on FIM2

This section lists the steps for disabling Internet Explorer Enhanced Security.

To disable Internet Explorer Enhanced Security for Administrators

  1. Log on to FIM2 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. In Server Manager, on the right-hand side, scroll down to Security Information, and then select Configure IE ESC.

  3. From the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration screen, under Administrators, select Off.

Install and Configuring SharePoint Foundation 2010 on FIM1

FIM R2 now supports SharePoint Foundation 2010, the replacement to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Be aware that for the first part of this installation, you must remove FIM1 from the private network and establish internet connectivity. This is so that SharePoint Foundation 2010 can automatically download and install the required pre-requisites.

To install and configure SharePoint Foundation 2010

  1. Navigate to the directory that contains the SharePoint Foundation 2010 binaries and double-click SharePointFoundation.EXE. This will launch a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 screen that will indicate that files are being extracted. Once this completes you will see the splash screen.

  2. Take FIM1 off of the private network and reconfigure the network so that FIM1 can access the internet. This is so that we can download and install the SharePoint Foundation 2010 prerequisite software. This software can be installed manually prior to installing SharePoint Foundation 2010. The following list of pre-requisite software is provided so that these can be manually installed.

  3. On the splash screen, click Install software prerequisites. This will bring up the Welcome to the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products Preparation Tool.

  4. Click Next. This will begin configuring and installing the prerequisite software. Once this completes click Finish.

  5. Re-connect FIM back to the private corp.contoso.com network and reboot FIM1.

  6. Once FIM1 comes back up, log on to FIM1 as CORP\Administrator.

  7. Navigate to the directory that contains the SharePoint Foundation 2010 binaries and double-click SharePointFoundation.EXE. This will launch a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 screen that will indicate that files are being extracted. Once this completes you will see the splash screen.

  8. On the splash screen, click Install SharePoint Foundation. This will bring up the License screen.

  9. On the License Agreement screen, read the License Agreement, select I accept the terms of this agreement, and then click Continue.

  10. On the Choose the installation you want screen, click Standalone. This will begin the installation.

  11. Once this completes, click Close. This will launch the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard.

  12. On the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard Welcome screen click Next. This will bring up a dialog box that says The following service may have to be started or reset during configuration. Click Yes. This will begin the configuration.

  13. This will perform 10 configuration tasks. Once this completes you will see Configuration Successful. Click Finish. This will launch Internet Explorer.

  14. The URL will be https://FIM1 and you will see Team Site Home page. Close Internet Explorer.

  15. Close the SharePoint Foundation 2010 splash screen.

Install Full Text Search on APP1

Now you need to add Full Text Search to your installed instance of SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise on APP1.

To install Full Text Search on APP1

  1. Log on to APP1 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. On APP1, navigate to the directory that contains the SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise binaries and double-click Setup.EXE. This will launch the SQL Server Installation Center.

  3. On the SQL Server Installation Center, on the left, click Installation.

  4. On the right, click New installation or add features to an existing installation. This will launch the SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup.

  5. On the Setup Support Rules screen, click OK. This will close the Setup Support Rules screen and will bring up the Setup Support Files screen.

  6. On the Setup Support Files screen, click Install. This will take a few moments to complete. Once this completes the Setup Support Rules screen will appear again.

  7. On the Setup Support Rules screen, click Next.

  8. On the Installation Type screen, select Add features to an existing instance of SQL Server 2008, and then click Next.

  9. On the Feature Selection screen, under Instance Features place a check in Full-Text Search, and then click Next.

  10. On the Disk Space Requirements screen, click Next.

  11. On the Server Configuration screen, click Next.

  12. On the Error and Usage Reporting screen, click Next.

  13. On the Installation Rules screen, click Next.

  14. On the Ready to Install screen, click Install.

  15. On the Installation Progress screen, wait until the installation completes. Click Next.

  16. On the Complete screen, click Close.

  17. Close the SQL Server Installation Center.

Install the Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable Security Update on FIM1

Install the Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable Security on FIM1. This is a requirement prior to installing the SCSM SP1 Console.

To install the Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable Security Update on FIM1

  1. Log on to FIM1 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. Navigate to the directory that contains the SCSM installation media, navigate to the amd64 folder and then the Prerequisites folder.

  3. In the Prerequisites folder, double-click ReportViewer.

  4. On the Welcome to Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable 2008 (KB971119) Setup page, click Next.

  5. On the License Terms page, read the Microsoft Software License Terms and select I have read and accept the license terms and then click Install.

  6. On the Setup Complete page, click Finish.

Install the Service Manager Console on FIM1

Install the Service Manager Console on FIM1. This is a required for reporting.

To install the Service Manager Console on FIM1

  1. Log on to FIM1 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. Navigate to the directory that contains the SCSM installation media, navigate to the amd64 folder and double-click Setup.exe.

  3. On the Microsoft System Center Service Manager 2010 SP1 page, click Install a Service Manager console.

  4. On the Product Registration page, read the Microsoft Software License Terms and select I have read, understood, and agree with the terms of the license agreement and then click Next.

  5. On the Installation Location page, click Next.

  6. On the System check results page, verify all of the prerequisites are met and click Next.

  7. On the Help improve System Center page, select No, I am not willing to participate and click Next.

  8. On the Use Microsoft Update to help keep your computer secure and up-to-date page, select I do not want to use Microsoft Update and click Next.

  9. On the Installation Summary page, click Install.

  10. On the Setup completed successfully page, click Close.

Install Cumulative Update 2 for SCSCM SP1 on FIM1, APP2, and APP3

Prior to installing FIM we need to cumulative update 2 for SCSM SP1 to the following 3 servers: FIM1, APP2, and APP3. This is a post Service Pack 1 cumulative roll-up of fixes. Follow the procedure below to complete this step.

To Install Cumulative Update 2 for SCSCM SP1 on FIM1, APP2, and APP3

  1. Log on to FIM1 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. Navigate to the directory that contains the SCSM2010SP1_CU_KB2542118_AMD64_7.0.6555.115_EN.exe and double-click the file. This will start the installation wizard.

  3. On the Getting Started screen, read the License Agreement, place a check in I have read, understood, and agree with the terms of the license agreement, and click Install. This will begin the install.

  4. Once the installation is complete, click Close.

  5. Repeat this process on all three servers: FIM1, APP2, and APP3.

Install Hotfix for KB2561430 on FIM1, APP2, and APP3

Prior to installing FIM we need to apply the following hotfix to the following 3 servers: FIM1, APP2, and APP3. Follow the procedure below to complete this step.

To Install Hotfix for KB2561430 on FIM1, APP2, and APP3

  1. Log on to FIM1 as CORP\Administrator.

  2. Navigate to the directory that contains the SCSM2010SP1_OD_KB2561430_AMD64_7.0.6555.116_EN.exe and double-click the file. This will start the installation wizard.

  3. On the Getting Started screen, read the License Agreement, place a check in I have read, understood, and agree with the terms of the license agreement, and click Install. This will begin the install.

  4. Once the installation is complete, click Close.

  5. Repeat this process on all three servers: FIM1, APP2, and APP3.
