GIFI Code Field, G/L Account Table

Here you can specify a General Index of Financial Information (GIFI) code for the account. To see the available GIFI codes, click the field.

When an account is associated with a GIFI code, it will be reported to the Canadian government under that GIFI code. Multiple accounts can be given the same GIFI code, but each account can only have one GIFI code associated with it. It is suggested that only posting accounts where the Account Type field is set to Posting be assigned a GIFI code, so that all totalling can be handled by your tax preparation software.
