Search Hit % Field, Marketing Setup Table
Specifies the level of precision to apply when searching for duplicates.
To search for duplicates, the program uses search strings, which are made up of parts of some fields from company information in the Contact table.
The Search Hit % contains a percentage, which indicates how many of these strings must be identical between two contacts for the program to consider them as duplicates.
A low percentage results in many duplicates being found, but many of these will not be true duplicates. For example, if the search hit % is 5, the program will consider as duplicates all contacts with 5% of identical search strings.
A high percentage gives a better chance of finding true duplicates. For example, if the search hit % is 90, the program will consider as duplicates all contacts with 90% of identical search strings.
