Field Mapping Window

Specifies which columns in the data file map to which fields in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

When users activate the related functionality, such as to send and receive electronic documents or import and export bank files, data is transferred to or from the fields in Microsoft Dynamics NAV according to the field mapping that you specify in this window. For more information, see How to: Enable Import/Export of Bank or Payroll Files Using the Data Exchange Framework.

Note

If the data file is in XML format, the term column in this topic should be interpreted as an xml element containing data.

General FastTab

Specifies the table that holds the fields to or from which data is transferred and specifies which codeunit is used to transfer the data.

Note

Select the Use as Intermediate Table checkbox if the data exchange mapping is for sending or receiving an electronic document. In that case, additional fields will appear on the Field Mapping FastTab. For more information, see Use as Intermediate Table.

Field Mapping FastTab

Specifies which columns in the file map to which fields in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and specifies if you want to transfer a default value to/from a specific field during export.

Each line on the Field Mapping FastTab represents one column-to-field map.

Note

In the Column No. field, you can only select columns that are represented by lines on the Column Definitions FastTab in the Data Exchange Definition window.

Tip

For more information on how to navigate in the user interface, see Work with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. For assistance in finding specific pages, see Search.
