No Stockkeeping Field, Item Table
Specifies that no item ledger entry is to be generated when that item is posted.
Additional Information
The inventory and costs are calculated for every item used in item transactions. In cases where the inventory of an item is not tracked and the costs do not have to be activated, G/L calculations are not needed and can be misleading. If you select the No StockKeeping field, then no item ledger entries are created for the item in item transactions. There is no item value and no inventory calculated for the item.
You typically use this feature for consumable materials and services.
You cannot enable the No Stock Keeping option for an item if there are already item ledger entries posted for the item. Items for which No StockKeeping is selected are excluded from the reservation, availability check, item tracking, and material planning systems.
