Lookup Dialog
Design a lookup dialog when you want to support the user viewing and selecting one or more values, usually in the form of rows in a list. Lookup dialogs are a particular type of task dialog optimized for selection, and may in addition to selection also support the user creating new entities or entries that can be selected.
Lookup Dialog guidelines
From the user’s perspective, the following are qualities of a well-designed lookup dialog page:
Is used for dialog that lets the user select one or more entities or entries.
Has a title and instructional text as needed so that the user understands the context for the lookup.
When presenting entities or entries to select in a grid, the most useful columns are shown and sequenced to help overview.
