How to: Index Insurance

You can use the Index Insurance batch job to update the value of the fixed assets that are covered.

To index insurance

  1. In the Search box, enter Index Insurance, and then choose the related link.

  2. Fill in the fields on the Options FastTab. A decrease of 5% is entered as 95 in the Index Figure field, whereas an increase of 2% is entered as 102.

  3. On the Fixed Asset FastTab, set a filter to select which fixed assets to index.

  4. Choose the OK button.

    The batch job calculates the amount as a percentage of the total value insured from the Insurance Statistics window, and creates a line in the insurance journal.

  5. In the Search box, enter Insurance Journals, and then choose the related link to open the Insurance Journals window.

  6. View the created entries and post them to the insurance coverage ledger.
