Returns the HTML markup for a validation-error message for each data field that is represented by the specified expression, using the specified message.

Type Parameters

  • TModel
    The type of the model.
  • TProperty
    The type of the value.

Parameters

  • validationMessage
    Type: System.String
    The message to display if the specified field contains an error.

Return Value

Type: System.Web.Mvc.MvcHtmlString
The HTML markup for a validation-error message for each data field that is represented by the expression. If no validation error occurs or client validation is disabled, this method returns null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type HtmlHelper<TModel>. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter.
