Vocean
Vocean is the space for co-creation. Here you can collaborate with many, or few, individuals. With Vocean you can innovate together by gathering ideas, develop and evaluate them. Connect to Vocean to get informed about new insights, or retrieve insights gathered.

With this Vocean connector you are able to retrieve insights gathered within Vocean for further use within programs already tightly involved in your organization. Use the power of our co-creation space without the need to alter your entire workflow, until you are ready to do so.
Prerequisites
To use this Vocean connector you must be a member of a Vocean space. You must also have a Vocean Premium Leader license.
If you are not yet a member of a Vocean space you can easily request for a space of your own here.
If you are a member of the Vocean space towards which you would like to use this connector, but lack the Premium Leader license, please ask the one who invited you to the space to provide you with a Premium Leader license.
How to get credentials
When you sign up for a Vocean space of your own, or accept an invitation to an existing space, you will get the credentials you need. When using this connector, you will be asked to log in using the same login you use in the Vocean space.
Get started with your connector
You will be able to retrieve ideas, votes and explore responses with this connector. Along with additional information added to those, for example likes. This information is gathered in activities created within Vocean and then the connector actions can be used to get the insights. You are also able to add ideas to an existing activity via the connector, or let a trigger inform you when an idea is added or altered in an activity that you specify.
Please note that you can only retrieve insights from activities where you have leader rights, and where your Vocean membership in that space has a Premium Leader license. (You can have the Premium Leader license in a space but only be a participant in a specific activity, then you will not be able to retrieve the insights from that activity via the connector.)
Please, also note that for Explore activities there is a possibility to set a privacy level. This prevents access to the responses - until the specified number of responses have been submitted. If this privacy level is provided, the Responder property will be empty and the Response Date will consist of date only, no timestamp.
Known issues and limitations
There is a limit for how many insights that can be retrieved via the connector.
- For Prioritize activities a maximum of 1,000 votes will be returned.
- For Innovate activities a maximum of 1,000 ideas will be returned.
- For Explore activities an approximate maximum of 1,000 question responses will be returned. (If 1,000 is not evenly divisible by the number of questions in the activity the maximum is slightly increased.)
The dropdowns and actions for fetching spaces and activities are limited to 100 items. If you should encounter this limit you may manually add the activity id in the dropdown box. Open the activity in the Web browser and you will find the activity id from the activity's URL: It is the trailing part after /activity/. For example, in https://app.vocean.com/.../activity/3259511a-145e-4b2c-9c01-bd2b9e0a52bc the activity id would be 3259511a-145e-4b2c-9c01-bd2b9e0a52bc.
The Add ideas action is limited to 100 ideas.
What is a vote, an idea and a question response?
In Prioritize activities each respondent is assumed to provide one vote (even though the vote may contain for example dot-voting and hence providing values for several options within the activity). In Innovate activities each respondent can provide a number of ideas, limited or unlimited by the activity leader. For these activities each idea is counted. In Explore activities each respondent sets a response to each question of the activity when submitting. Here each question response is counted.

FAQ
Do I need to own the Vocean space?
The Vocean spaces are usually set up per organization and then the organization can add several members to this space. You do not have to own the Vocean space, but you need to be a member of the space. You also must have a Premium Leader license in that space.
I am a leader of the activity, why can't I gather the insights?
You can be a leader of an activity with either Premium Leader license or without (Basic Leader license). Your membership needs to have the Premium Leader license to be able to gather insights with the connector.
I am a Premium Leader in the Vocean space, why can't I gather the insights?
If you have a Premium Leader license you still need to be appointed leader of the specific activity to gather its insights through the connector. Ask the leader of the activity to appoint you too as leader.
Can I use the same setup for a different activity?
For actions you will be asked to provide the activity you would like to use. As long as the activity type in Vocean is the same you can reuse your setup. But you need different setups for different activity types. (Since the different activity types provide you with different insights you would probably want different setups for the different activity types anyway.)
Why can’t I find the activity in the activity list?
Make sure you have selected a space, and that it is the correct one. A space is needed before activities can be fetched. Depending on the operation the activities shown can be limited to the activity type, make sure you are looking for an activity of the correct type. Make sure you are looking for the activity's header in the list, and not the workboard’s header.
The dropdowns and actions for fetching spaces and activities are limited to 100 items. If you should encounter this limit you may manually add the activity id in the dropdown box. Open the activity in the Web browser and you will find the activity id from the activity's URL as the trailing part after /activity/. For example, in https://app.vocean.com/.../activity/3259511a-145e-4b2c-9c01-bd2b9e0a52bc the activity id would be 3259511a-145e-4b2c-9c01-bd2b9e0a52bc.
Why can't I see any Explore responses?
If there is a privacy level set for the activity, you will not be able to see any responses until the minimum number of responses have been submitted.
Why is the Responder property empty?
For Explore activities where the privacy level is set, the Responder property will be empty. This is to prevent corss-references between questions with potentially sensitive information.
