HPC Pack tool pack updated

'Tool Pack' is the name we use to release various utilities written by the dev team in their spare time. Today we've released one new tool and an update to an old favorite.

  • Lizard - the good old Linpack tuning wizard has been updated with some bug fixes and compatibility with the recently-released HPC Pack 2008 R2
  • ClusterCopy - a new tool that will help you copy files across your cluster. While something like xcopy or robocopy could be used on all the nodes you'd end up overloading the file server / network depending on the size of your cluster. ClusterCopy uses a tree-based file copy system, where a few nodes copy the file from the original server, and then some more nodes copy the files from those nodes, repeating until the files are everywhere.

Both are available now at https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=3313856b-02bc-4bdd-b8b6-541f5309f2ce

Though technically unsupported, feel free to post any questions/suggestions in our forums at https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowshpc

Is clustercopy restricted to compute nodes? Do workstationnodes work as well?
