Thank you to Naomi for all your contributions! Now let's get started with the interview...
Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies? What are your big projects right now?
I am Naomi Nosonovsky, Software Developer in Siriusware. Our company produces a custom sales of point solution for Ski Industry, Attractions and Museums and my role is to participate in all aspects of developing and enhancement of our product. I work with variety of technologies: C#, ASP.NET MVC, SQL Server and Visual FoxPro. One of the projects I am working on right now is conversion project of the legacy code into C#.
What is TechNet Wiki for? Who is it for?
TechNet WiKi is a great collective efforts of many talented individuals to create extensive knowledge base in all areas of IT World. TechNet WiKi is for everyone who wants to learn and share knowledge
What do you do with TechNet Wiki, and how does that fit into the rest of your job?
When I see an existing article where I can contribute, I go ahead and try to improve it. If I come across an interesting problem that I would like to share I try to create a new article. I found that TechNet WiKi is a whole new world where you can dive very deep. Last few days I’ve been spending considerable amount of time there and enjoying it.
What is it about TechNet Wiki that interests you?
I am good at spotting typos in technical articles, so this is one area where I can apply this “talent”. I am able to improve content of the articles written by other people. I also learn about new technologies as I read the articles. So, it is both entertaining and interesting for my professional growth.
On what Wiki articles do you spend most of your time?
I spend most of the time on my own articles devoted to SQL Server. I hope to be able to evolve some of the articles I’ve written and write more.
What are your favorite Wiki articles you’ve contributed?
I think my latest article for TechNet Guru Contributions in June is my favorite. See SET ANSI_PADDING Setting and Its Importance.
What are your top 5 favorite Wiki articles?
I am not sure, I am only starting to actively participate in WiKi and I like most of the articles I read. I can see that many of them are very thorough and deep. I wish to be able to write such an article myself.
Who has impressed you in the Wiki community, and why?
I can see many people contributing and it is hard to name someone in particular. I am impressed by everyone who dedicates their time to writing and editing articles.
What does success look like for TechNet Wiki?
Writing great technical articles that attract many viewers and let people learn something new and love to contribute.
Do you have any comments for product groups about TechNet Wiki?
I just recently found a forum dedicated to TechNet Wiki, where I already put one of my suggestions (and I shared it in special WiKi article too, of course).
Thanks again to Naomi and to all of your contributions to the Forums and to TechNet Wiki!
Come on in. The Wiki is fine.
