Git yer fix now, boys (or, MCP Site Downtime Notice)

The MCP site will be down for routine maintenance starting tomorrow, for about a day and half. The official message is:

The MCP/MCT web sites will be unavailable from March 27 at 9:00 AM PST until March 28 at 5:00 PM PST due to a planned maintenance outage. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. If you need immediate assistance, your Regional Service Center will be able to help with most services during this time.

What this means to you is:

  • You won't be able to access your transcript, logo-builder, etc for a day and a half; any tools that are on the MCP site will be offline
  • The RSCs (https://www.microsoft.com/learning/support/worldsites.mspx) will be in read-only mode... that means they can help you look up any of your data but will not be able to implement any changes (i.e. update your address, re-order a kit, etc)
  • So, git yer fix before we shut 'er down.

Forgot to mention that what is happening is that the kids in the back are working on the big database project to combine our Office, Dynamics, and IT cert data, like I've mentioned before. So, soonish we should see combined transcripts, etc. and access to logos from our tools for combined audiences.

And it's still down! Someone needs to read their own published support policies!

I hope they are doing all this work just so that I dont have to send another "Hi, I already have an MCP ID, merge this" email.  :)

I passed my MCDST exams on March 28th, during the MCP website downtime.  Is this why I still haven't received my welcome email yet?  Does my test center need to resubmit my data?

Hey, Chachi. I think so. http://blogs.msdn.com/trika/archive/2007/04/11/certification-data.aspx Hey, Chris. We'd be so bored if you stopped sending merge e-mails. What would we DO with our time? Read eWeek? Play online bridge? Watch sweet rock n' roll certification videos? No, thank you. We'll keep on creating duplicate customer records!
