Day in the Life

Hit the road at about nine. No slugs in the drive-way. Burn down Avondale in the bimmer. Pass a deer on side of the road. Arrive at work around 9:30. Sign into IM and check e-mail. No new e-mail because I check it all the time, even on weekends like everyone else. Intern comes on-line. Answers a couple of his questions over IM. Discover I am cranky so I hit the fridge for a Pepsi. Hit Visual Studio 2003 and continue work on UI for next version. Get this working. Get that working.  Fix up other people's code due to changes in my API. Move images and scripts from old project to current one. Test. Check-in and send check-in mail. Get "pat on the back" e-mail from the boss. Feel good.

IM girlfriend wife to discuss lunch options.

Decide on Coyote Creek at Crossroads. Barbeque chicken pizza. Tasty. Back to work.

Rename some files from earlier check-in for consistency, niceties, etc. Code seems ok. Head aches -- need coffee. Hit espresso stand for a venti iced mocha. Meet with intern and PM to talk about intern's project. Code is actually hosed up - runtime exceptions. Leave meeting to fix up code. Everything is cool. Feel bad for making dumb mistake. Remember to test more next time. Check e-mail. Back to meeting with intern and PM. Discuss version two of intern project -- the "would be cools" and "if we had times". Afterwards discuss weekly objectives with intern, answer some more questions. Back to code. Get cranky because new enlistment doesn't have tools from one project. Copy those over, check-in, send check-in mail. Check e-mail. Almost time to go home. Blog. Go home.
