(Cloud) Tip of the Day: Map OneDrive to a drive letter
Today’s Tip…
If you have a scenario where you need to map OneDrive to a drive letter, here is the steps to do that…
Note: While WebDav is supported this will work. If at any time OneDrive for Business no longer supports WebDav, this will no longer work.
- Within File Explorer, right click on your OneDrive for Business, select OneDrive for Business, then select Copy link.
- Within File Explorer, right click on Network and select Map a network drive.
- In the Folder field, right click and paste
- Make sure that Reconnect at sign-in is selected
- Click Finish
Your OneDrive will now show up as a mapped drive.

Access Denied. Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted site list, browse to the web site, and select the option to login automatically'Of course, this does not work...- Anonymous

This worked for me. Make sure you close all browsers after adding the trusted site. Then try to add the network drive. The error can be reproduced when not closing the browsers first.

Hi,old thread, but still a valid topic. Looks like Microsoft will offer on demand cloud file access with Windows 10 later this year, but only for the newest OS and not for RDS and Citrix. In addition it's still a question how to 'use' the many Sites and Groups in an Office 365 environment when everyone has to 'start sync' before documents and data ist accessible. That's why we decided to solve the problem with a real network provider for Office 365: https://konnekt.io. It’s not only bring back placeholders to Windows 10, it’s also working with earlier versions of Windows and – best of all – Citrix and Terminal Server. In addition it supports UNC connectivity and drive letter mapping based on a native network provider for Office 365.Integrated into Windows Explorer the tool makes the whole Office 365 (Sharepoint Online, Groups, OneDrive) world browsable like folder shares and structures on file servers.Best regards,Gunnar
