MSDN invite you to join SPI Dynamics for a "Web Application Hacking Workshop"

Let's get this straight to start with MICROSOFT WILL NOT BE TEACHING YOU HOW TO HACK! Our partner SPI Dynamics are experts in the field of writing secure code and helping customers to measure and improve the quality of software.

The event itself is free of charge for you to join - assuming you're located near our office in Reading England - we're not paying your travel costs!

If you'd like to participate (or sit quietly at the back) in the event then please register by browsing to the "Web application hacking workshop" event page. There are some places left at the moment but they're being filled rather quickly so please act soon if you'd like to go to the event.

The session abstract is as follows:

"Join us for this informative workshop where we will discuss best practices for implementing security early in the software application lifecycle. Workshop participants will learn specific techniques that can be used to uncover and resolve security defects before hackers do.

You will learn:

 • The evolution of Web applications and why they need to be secured

• Advanced hacking techniques like SQL Injection, Blind SQL Injection, Session Hijacking and several other hacks

• Why current HTTP security measures fall short

• Specific methods for integrating Web application security into your company’s software development and implementation processes

• How to build Web application security policies

• How legal and regulatory issues relate to Web application security"
