I'm NOT a Girl!

...but I have been to a Girl Geek Dinner and plan to go to more. As the name suggests they focus on the female perspective of technology. Of course I have no idea how many of you are Girl Geeks - if you are one then you can add your name to the WIKI and join the Geeky Girls @ their next gathering in London.

Date & Time: Monday 24th April 2006 7:30pm - late
Location: Pitcher & Piano on Bishopsgate
Price: Free - Sponsored fully by Women in Technology
Speakers: Helen Duguid
Sign up to attend the event

To learn more about the event browse to the Girl Geek Dinner website.

Gentlemen Geeks are able to join the event IF INVITED by a Girl Geek.

I've been to several Geek Dinners and thoroughly enjoyed them - I've met some fascinating people and had some wonderful debates.

I love the paradox of "Geek Dinner" as the stereotypical portrail of a "Geek" is someone who's socially inept and dietary challenged - quite why such a person would choose to participate in a gathering of strangers for the express purpose of discussing technological issues is a mystery to me :-)

Sarah Blow is a well known Girly Geek who loves tech toys and is "passionata" about mobile / wireless development. If you ask nicely then she may even be pursuaded (not for the first time) to be our MC. Check out Sarah's blog for practical information about effective development methodologies

Please tell me you didn't dress up ala "Tootsie" style and call yourself "Stephanie" ;-).

John> You'll have to come along to find out!
Why not find a Girl Geek and suggest they might like to go and suggest that they might like to invite you!
