Global Entrepreneur Week offers help (not kelp!) on going global
Global small business trading experts Alibaba.com are sponsoring Global Entrepreneurship Week (14-18 November), and you can benefit from their advice and expertise.
Packed with top speakers and practical sessions, Go Global will offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to increase sales, satisfy international customers and raise their profile, with help from some of the world’s most successful brands.
Alibaba.com will be working closely with small business support company, Enterprise Nation, to host a week-long schedule of online and offline events focused on helping small businesses go global.
Following the launch of a Go Global Guide on Monday 14th November, the main conference will follow with a day-long schedule of speakers; successful exporters such as Richard Moross of MOO.COM, Kate Castle from BoginaBag, Janan Leo of CocoRose and Rob Law, founder of Trunki, will tell their stories of trading success, mixed with advice from experts in the fields of payment, virtual offices, website translation, making sales, international media and much more!
Activities to follow in the week include presence at an international trade event in Belfast, all-day workshops on 17th November focused on how to reach and react in international markets, as well as webchats, podcasts, trade twinning on Twitter and a new Go Global app.
Linda Kozlowski, Director, Global Marketing and Customer Experience of Alibaba.com, said:
“…a busy but essential week for any small business owner considering going global, or making overseas sales and wanting this to increase. We will be on hand throughout to offer support and guidance and to highlight how small businesses can successfully sell and trade overseas via platforms such as our own and with support from peers and experts.”
With domestic markets showing little sign of rapid recovery and an exchange rate in favour of exporters, there’s no better time to go global, says Emma Jones, founder of Enterprise Nation:
“Over the past 12 months we’ve continued to hear from small business owners that they’re going global faster than ever before. Whether selling products or services, UK businesses are attracting online traffic from new markets or being picked up on popular blogs and turning this interest into income. Throughout the week we will hear from over 50 successful exporters and international experts who can offer all the tips and techniques you need to make the most of what is a large and growing opportunity!”
Alibaba.com and Enterprise Nation are working closely with Youth Business International, the official hosts of Global Entrepreneurship Week and government department, UK Trade and Investment.
Tickets are available from Enterprise Nation
and cost £50 for the whole week of activities. Attend the main event and/or workshops throughout the week to learn how you can increase sales and trade successfully overseas!
