I've joined the Tablet cult
I just got one this week (Toshiba m200) and I am hooked. I've been debating it for months, but after I realized that I'd stopped taking my laptop to meetings and was taking a notebook or pad of paper instead (and then would spend additional time outside of the meeting crossing off things in those notes and rewriting the remaining notes onto clean sheets of paper because I tend to be somewhat compulsive), I realized that my main usage of my laptop is for note taking and organizing, so the tablet makes perfect sense for me.
The only thing I don't like is the pad-type mouse. I'm so used to the little knob-type mouse in the middle of the keyboard, and my stray thumb always messes up my mouse movements. But of course that's not specific to Tablet in any way.
I shall name thee "Tabby".

I happened to be looking at the toshiba site that day they had the 802.11G! So when I asked our admin to order it, I specifically told her to get that... then when she went to order it, it was gone. I'd wondered what was up with that, figured toshiba was just monkeying with their site, since the entire UI was also different the next day =) - Anonymous

I've disabled the touchpad on my laptop for that very reason. If I'm not using my external mouse (Intellimouse Explorer), I use the thumb stick thing (what is its official name?) in the middle of the keyboard. - Anonymous

I just five minutes ago got back from my admin's office where I was delighted to find out that she had the microsoft 'mini' mice in stock! So I will be disabling that touchpad momentarily.
Unfortunately I don't have the thumb-stick thing on my keyboard, that's my favorite type of mouse for laptops (I know of several names used for it, but I don't think they're appropriate to repeat here - how about "nubbin"?) - Anonymous

Welcome to the cult, new recruit. I've become so attached to my tablet that I want to turn my desktop into one with a digitizer...
It's not just the meetings -- I love having the sketches, diagrams, etc. that I use for brainstorming included in my project notes and documentation.
I get comments often because I went "penless". I don't keep a pen at my desk, and I don't keep notepads -- my desk has no paper on it (except in the inbox :) ) Once you do that, you realize just how much information you threw away when you took notes / jotted ideas on a steno pad. - Anonymous

Are you able to stay connected to the network as you travel about the campus? Can you write more about staying connected to the world while you are using your tablet.
I want to wait for the slates to come out in 1.6ghz before I get my tablet. I want to see our support organization embrace the Tablet PC it would be a big plus.
Keep talking up the Tablet PC - I think it's going to be BIG. - Anonymous
